The Concept

Gari Shoyu Sando Company offers a modern and unique understanding of contemporary Japanese cuisine.

The name for the concept is a play on words. In the Japanese language, gari shoyu translates to ginger soy, which is a common dipping sauce, & is also the nickname chef Gary Marshall received in the kitchen where he studied & honed his craft. A “sando” is a style of sandwich made with traditional Japanese ingredients, utilizing handed down techniques to achieve what in our eyes is the perfect sandwich.

The star of the show is our soft, sweet, and spongy style of bread called shokupan which we bake daily. Together, they create a delicious combination of flavor and texture. With this in mind, we humbly invite you to come and experience our menu as we pay homage to Japanese comfort food in all of its glory.
